On Saturday, April 06, 2019, Church of St. John the Evangelist, will host its 3rd Annual Love Your Neighbour Walk to raise money for the St. Matthew’s House Food Banks. Please join us for a walk on Locke and help us love our fellow neighbours.
Last year walkers raised $4,800 to help those who are hungry in Hamilton! St. Matthew’s House operates two food banks in Hamilton. In 2018, over 30,000 people utilized these services. We want to make sure that those who are hungry continue to have access to this much needed service.
Once again, we will have a 2km and 5km route in the Locke Street area. Registration will open at 4:00 p.m. and the walk will begin at 4:30 p.m. This year we are going to have Chilli as the after walk meal. If you would like to make your favourite Chilli we are ready for it. Gather your friends and family. Ask other parishioners at your church. Let’s make our 2nd annual walk even better than our inaugural event! Whether you choose to collect pledges and participate or just donate to the cause, your support will make a difference.
