Hearts and Minds is a ministry that explores the intersection of faith and every day life. Hearts and Minds generally meets at the church on the second Friday of the month. Following the sharing of a potluck meal, a speaker or panel speaks on a topic of interest. Check the events section of the website for more information about the next Hearts and Minds event.
Hearts and Minds October 2019 follow-up
At the Hearts and Minds meeting on Friday October 4, we heard from three panelists all in professional lay ministry. Because all three must raise their own support, and all three also depend daily on the prayers of the community, we thought it would be good to make their contact information available to the congregation at St John's so that anyone who would like to consider these things further can do so.
Sevda Lindo is InterVarsity Christian Fellowship staff-worker with students at McMaster; her husband Matt is the director for IVCF campus ministry in Southwestern Ontario. Because they have been in Canada from Azerbaijan for only two years, they have as yet a small support community here and are looking to expand it. Sevda's email address is [email protected] and the IVCF website is www.ivcf.ca. Sevda has left some hard-copy pamphlets about her and Matt's work in the crypt.
Alison Witt works with Impact Canada, a new program of ITeams called Open Homes which works to find homestays for refugees in Hamilton. If you are interested in knowing more about this, you can contact her at [email protected]. You can find more information in the report to be found here.
