On Sunday, March 10, during her visit to our parish, Bishop Susan Bell commissioned four new Lay Readers and Catechists for our parish. Lay Readers are laypersons authorized by a bishop to lead certain services of worship or lead certain parts of a service. They are members of the congregation permitted to preach or teach, and to officiate at some services.
John Bowen, Beth Green, and Matthew Lee are among the regular preachers at Saint John's. Susan Little is a frequent catechist, small group leader, and Bible teacher. All four were admitted as Lay Readers by Bishop Bell.
The office remains closed due the the coronavirus pandemic and is opened only by appointment.
IN-PERSON WORSHIP SERVICES ARE TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED TO RESUME ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4. SEE THE EVENTS SECTION OF THIS WEBSITE FOR DETAILS.
We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that our parish is located on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples. We are located in the Lower Chedoke Watershed.
