Pam (Joy) Battersby died at St. Joseph’s Villa on Saturday, December 23 surrounded by her family. She was actively involved in programming for adults and families but her passion was in serving youth and children. She loved working with crafts or serving snacks, engaging children and youth with her warmth and affection. From Youth Group, Vacation Bible School and Children’s Festival, Pam found joy in organizing and serving the needs of others.   For the last two decades she provided hospitality primarily at the Discovery Service but her behind-the- scenes presence regularly found her at parish events. A founding member of BeHive, Pam continued her faith journey, often attending events focused on learning and growth offered in the diocese and beyond, including 53rd Weekend and serving on the executive of Anglican Niagara Huron Cursillo as well as our own Parish Council.

Pam will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of others, big and small, with her warmth and smile. She leaves behind her daughter, two sons and three grand daughters who adored  her as well as a circle of friends bound together by their faith and love of adventure. She blessed the lives of those who knew her, even briefly, with joy… and that was her legal middle name! (Shown with her great friend Patti in the picture.)

In accordance with her family’s wishes,  there will be no funeral at this time. However, they will celebrate her life closer to her birthday (May 6) and will send us more information at that time.

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
