The Council of Nicaea in 325 was an important event in the life of the church. Most of us know it best through the Nicene Creed, recited in many of our liturgies. But this was not the only product of the great council! It remains one of the sources of teaching on which many churches continue to agree, in spite of other differences that have come up over the centuries.
We are celebrating the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea with the congregation of St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in a special service of Choral Evensong at 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 28. We will worship together, share some social time, and engage in some learning about this important event in our shared heritage.
Hope to see you there!
