Join us on Sunday, May 10th for a Cake Auction in the Activity Centre. Bidding starts at 9:00 am and ends at 12:45.
Some QUESTIONS and REMINDERS!
*When does bidding open? Bidding begins at 9 a.m. and closes at 12:44 p.m. You may make a bid on the CAKE of your choice by signing the appropriate bidding sheet located closest to your preference.
- *How much do I bid? Each CAKE has a bidding sheet with the description of the CAKE, the starting bid and the bidding increments. You can increase your bid beyond the suggested increment.
- *How many bids can I make? As many as you want or can afford! We encourage as many winners as possible so please try to bid strategically. All proceeds go directly to the Church budget so enjoy the bidding.
- *What if I have food allergies? Each cake will be accompanied by a list of its ingredients. We cannot guarantee freedom from possible ingredients which may cause unexpected reactions.
- *How do I pay? Cash is preferred but we will accept e-transfer (add “Cake” on the transfer note).
- *Do I have to be present when the bidding concludes? No. We will contact you right after all tickets have been pulled and we will call the phone number on the back of your ticket. Make sure you print clearly your name and contact information on the bidding sheet. If it’s a perishable cake, we reserve the right to freeze it or keep it in the church fridge. We do not offer home delivery! The Church Office is open on the following Tuesday so please be available Sunday afternoon by 1 p.m. to pick it up. Otherwise, it goes into ‘storage’ for you to pick up during Office hours (Tuesday / Wednesday and Friday, 9:30-12:30) unless you make special arrangements with another person who will be present Sunday, May 10 th .
- *How do I carry home my cake, if I should win one? We are providing a bakery style cardboard box for each cake.
- *How will cakes be kept fresh? Cakes containing perishable ingredients will be placed for viewing ay 9 a.m. as the bidding opens. Then, they will be returned to refrigeration until after the 9:30 service when they will return to the tables. Then, at 11:00 a.m., they will again be returned to the refrigerator during the Choral Service and set out again until 12:44. In some cases where a CAKE needs constant refrigeration, a photo of the cake or a description will substitute for the cake itself.
