1 Corinthians 12:3b-13
A Variety of Gifts for the Common Good

A particular refrain has been on our lips since the beginning of this crisis. Our leaders have been reminding us that “We are all in this together.” And the fact is, I think that the reality of it has for the most part been lived out in our actions: “We are in this together.”

Writing to the Church in Corinth, Saint Paul is essentially arguing the same point. We are in this together. Paul describes manifestations of the Spirit as capabilities seen in individuals, gifts for leadership and service. “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good,” he writes.
