The St John's tax clinic has completed another year of filing taxes for low-income individuals in Hamilton and the surrounding area. Three clinic volunteers completed about 155 returns this year to ensure their clients can continue to collect the maximum benefits to which they are entitled and, in some cases, retain the home in which they live. (Many not-for-profit homes require proof of income in the form of a notice of assessment from the CRA to allow residents to continue living in the homes.) Special thanks to Harold Wilson and Debashis Dey for their dedication and care for an important ministry of our parish.
Please contact the church office if you have any questions about the clinic or you are interested to learn more about how you might help with its work.
