Churches throughout the world have begun to mark the period from September 1 to October 4 (5 Sundays) as the “season of creation.” At a time when the vulnerability of God’s creation to human activity has become a matter of vital concern, we have an opportunity to focus on appreciating and better understanding the “natural” world, and to work on restoring our relationship with it under God.
This year’s focus is “Let justice roll down” (Amos 5:24) — a reminder that the way we relate to the rest of creation affects the livelihood of our fellow human beings, both locally and globally.
