Gareth Inkster has submitted his resignation as the Director of Music for the Discovery Service, effective September 1, 2022. Gareth will begin a full time position as teacher in a local Christian school this September.
Gareth began his ministry with us at the beginning of 2020, just a couple of months before all the changes brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. In accepting Gareth's resignation, the rector and churchwardens commented that Gareth's gifts and talents were a special gift to us, especially during the difficult pandemic time. As a professional musician with a recording studio at home, Gareth was able to record music for our online worship services during the times when our worship leaders were unable to gather to livestream. This was a special gift during those difficult days of isolation.
We have enjoyed getting to know Gareth and we wish him all the best in his new position.
Given our summer worship schedule, Gareth's final Sunday leading music at St John's will be Sunday, August 21 at the 10AM Summer Service. Let's join in our thanks for Gareth's ministry.
The Corporation will be working witht the Band to discuss interim arrangements and the search for a new music director. We appreciate your prayers for this process.
The office remains closed due the the coronavirus pandemic and is opened only by appointment.
Preregistration is no longer required to attend worship services. Masking is no longer required, but is recommended.
We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that our parish is located on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples. We are located in the Lower Chedoke Watershed.
