Dear St John’s family,

We write as co-chairs of the Parochial Committee tasked with leading and resourcing the search process for the new rector for St. John’s.  As a congregation, we will be fully involved in this process over the next few months.

January 29th will be the first of at least three (non-successive) Sundays on which we will hold congregational meetings concerning this process.  On these Sundays, we will follow our summer worship pattern, with an 8am BCP service and a 10am joint communion service.

These 10am joint services will alternate between the worship patterns of the 9:30 and 11:00am services, and will be each immediately followed by a congregational meeting addressing specific stages of the search of a new rector for St. John’s.

The January 29th 10am Communion service will be after the 9:30 am worship pattern.   The congregational meeting to follow will use the parish Timeline to have a discussion, led by Archdeacon Terry DeForest, about the history of our congregation, looking for patterns and significant points for reflection.

Future Sunday joint 10am services and parish meetings will host conversations around both who we are now and where we are called to be.

Have you thought of what you’d like to post on our parish Timeline? How have you discerned God acting in your life, and the life of our congregation? Put your mark on the wall!   Please keep this parish search and discernment process in your prayers, that we may all be led by the Spirit in these tasks.

If you have any questions, please contact us.  With our prayers,
