When someone is ordained, gifts are often given to celebrate and help them in their new ministry. Dena has been given many gifts in preparation for her priestly ministry and does not need much more in the way of stuff.
So, what's her curacy parish (St John's) to do by way of a gift?
In a conversation with Dena about the best way to give thanks for and honour her new ministry, she reflected that her curacy at St John's has been a valuable and important formative experience for her. With this in mind, and Dena's support, the parish is going to make a donation to the new diocesan curacy fund in thanksgiving for Dena's ordination and ministry. This will help to ensure that future clergy have the benefit of curacies, even in parishes that can't afford to pay a stipend out of their own pocket.
If you would like to contribute to this gift, please make a donation to St John's in the usual way and include a note that it is for "Dena's Ordination Gift". Ways to make donations are detailed here.
