The Migrant Farmworkers Mission is a hospitality and pastoral care ministry that accompanies and empowers migrant farmworkers during their work season in the Niagara region.  They actively support the spiritual, pastoral, emotional, mental, medical, and physical needs of Spanish-speaking migrant farmworkers in the Niagara region.

The Mission learned earlier this year that one of the grants that provides a significant portion of their operating funding has been drastically cut back. This leaves them with a significant shortfall in their operating budget this year. A call has gone out to parishes around the diocese asking for supportive responses to this unexpected challenge.

An anonymous donor has issued a challenge to St John's: They will match, dollar-for-dollar up to $2,000, donations received by St John's before May 1 for the Migrant Farmworkers Mission.

Please consider prayerfully whether you feel called to rise to this challenge and contribute to this important mission in our diocese, helping us maximize the offer of matching donations. To help the parish meet this challenge, please donate in the way that you normally would, clearly marking your donation for Migrant Farmworkers Mission.
