You may have noticed some changes in who's doing what at St John's in the last little while. There's been a lot going on in the last month or so! Here are some updates on what's happening:
Adam MacNeil is in the midst of studying for his Master of Divinity degree at Trinity College, Toronto. As part of his studies, Adam will serve in ministry placements with various Anglican communities. His first, we are delighted, will be with us at St John's. Adam grew up at Church of the Resurrection and continues to serve around the diocese as a musician.
The Corporation was delighted to announce on March 22 that, after sorting through many applications and interviews, we have hired Sarah Jones as our new Family Life Coordinator for St John's. Sarah is a familiar face around St John's. She comes to this new role with education, training, and experience in early childhood education and church children's ministry.
Since Dena arrived at St John's two short years ago, we have benefited in many ways from her ministry with us. As much as we have come to love and appreciate Dena, we knew from the start that this was not a permanent arrangement. It was with mixed feelings that we heard last Sunday the bishop's announcement that Dena would be leaving us to take up an appointment as rector of St John the Divine, Cayuga. Dena's last Sunday with us will be this Sunday, St John's Day, May 10, 2026.
