Having a spiritual life attending to the individual interior self has never been more important for Christians. In our contemporary culture where anger and outrage are commonplace, care for our interior selves is critical to our health.
This practical learning event will enable participants to experience different contemplative prayer practices and to discuss their experience of them. We will explore practices drawing on direct experience of God - via positiva - and then practices when God feels absent or when emotions are high - via negativa. Participants will be able to experience these different practices to revitalise or begin a daily rhythm of prayer and contemplation.
The Revd Canon Dr Ian Mobsby is the Community missioner for the Diocese of Niagara is an established practitioner and teacher of Christian contemplative spirituality with a background in founding and supporting Anglican contemplative and new monastic communities.
