With songs that play like home movies, Colour Film is the stage name of local musician Matthew de
Zoete. Mixing a storyteller's eye for detail with a knack for melody, his new album Half An Hour
presents snapshots of everyday life that illuminate the underlying currents. Imagine Nick Drake
cheering up a bit and meeting Beck. After releasing four albums and playing 1001 shows throughout
North America and Europe from 2006 - 2018, Matthew put music on hold in favour of family time.
Half An Hour was recorded in January 2020 only for the hiatus to be prolonged by COVID and then an
injury in 2022 that put everything on hold in favour of hospital time, surgeries, and ongoing rehab.
This concert will feature a full-band performance of Half An Hour, plus a few favourites from the
Colour Film catalogue. Proceeds will go to the Hand Clinic at Hamilton General Hospital, where
Matthew continues to strengthen his thumb war chops.

Opening the show will be Lisa Savard-Quong, whose offbeat style is genuinely disarming and
captivating. Born and raised in Montreal, this eclectic artist manages to create music that is both
nostalgic and curiously unique. Playful melodies washed in dreamy synths recall bands such as The
Zombies and Angel Olsen. Her music has been featured in numerous projects which have premiered
and screened all over the world including the Austin and Cannes Film Festivals. With a new release onthe horizon, she is excited to debut a set of never before played songs at this show! www.crappybirthdaylisa.com instagram: @lisasavardquong
