DESCRIPTION:*Update May 6 7-8PM* - planting an eco-lawn section for dogs
(if we get rained out May 6th we’ll plant it on our monthly May 13th eve
ning)\nFirst of all\, many thanks to our existing volunteers and a warm w
elcome aboard to our new volunteers\, thanks for thinking about checking u
s out - we look forward to meeting you in person. \nFor new volunteers\,
I just want to emphasize that there is no minimum commitment for helping w
ith the garden\, if you are able and available to come out we will always
be happy to see you\, but no pressure at all if it doesn’t work for your
schedule. We schedule one standard monthly evening 1 hour session\, as we
ll as periodic ‘one-off’ sessions to work on a particular garden proje
ct if needed. It’s a nice way to volunteer in the community\, a bit of g
entle\, social gardening to help maintain a church rain-garden\, that is e
njoyed by the community and wildlife.\nWe always have a small selection of
hand tools to borrow\, but if you have favourite gardening tools\, feel f
ree to bring them with you\, as well as gardening gloves if you have them
and some cold drinking water when the weather is hot.\n We always have a
rain date one week later\, for all planned gardening activities\, so alway
s check your email before you head over to the garden\, when the weather l
ooks iffy. We will always email two hours before the start time if we are
deferring to the rain date.\nIf you have any questions\, comments and sug
gestions please contact Norm Newber\n Key Dates for 2026\nMonthly evening
