SJE is experimenting with a new resource that is part of our membership software and which promises to help us with the sometimes daunting task of ministry scheduling. As you may be able to imagine it can be difficult to keep in mind the various needs and potential scheduling conflicts for the many people who are scheduled on various ministry teams and different team leaders.
"Servepoint" promises to help us with this by allowing individual people who serve the ability to schedule unavailabilies for service at times when they may be on vacation or working. It will also allow each servant to accept or decline assignments and notify those doing the scheduling of potential conflicts. Servants will generally be notified 30 prior to their scheduled assignment and prompted again after 14 days if they have not accepted or decline. Reminders about the commitment to serve will also be sent one or two days before the actual day of service. In addition to all of this, each person who serves are able to choose the way that they would like to be contacted, whether by text message, e-mail or both. Those without electronic messaging will continue to be contacted by telephone by their team leader.
