Worship

Worship is at the centre of the Christian life. At the Church of St John the Evangelist we offer people the opportunity to worship in a number of different ways.

Choral Service

Sunday mornings, 11 a.m.

We experience the best of the classic Anglican choral and liturgical traditions. The choral service is held on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. Adult, youth and children's choirs enhance this worship service. The Holy Eucharist is celebrated most Sundays, with Choral Matins approximately twice each year.

Discovery Service

Sunday mornings, 9:30 a.m.

With a more contemporary feel, our Discovery Service is also a Eucharistic celebration. Our house worship band is known as "The Spirit of Rock".

Early Service

Sunday mornings, 8:15 a.m.

A quiet said service using the Holy Communion rite of the Book of Common Prayer.

Wednesday Service

Wednesday mornings, 10 a.m. in the Chapel of St Michael and St George

A service with hymns and using the Holy Communion rite of the Book of Common Prayer. There is fellowship in the crypt over coffee, tea and cookies following the service.

Messy Church

Thursday evenings (Monthly on the Third Thursday of the month)

Holy Days

As announced.

The Liturgical Schedule

The Liturgical Schedule is a listing of all worship services that are planned for the parish and includes a number of details regarding those services. Dates, times, location, type of service, special observances, special liturgies, mission emphases, special requests for intercessors, and so on. These pages are updated regularly as plans progress and so it is hoped that ministry personnel will check the schedule regularly. This schedule is maintained by the Rector.
