Holy Week and Easter Schedule

Holy Wednesday, March 27

10 a.m., Holy Communion with  Laying on of Hands and Anointing for Healing, 10 a.m. Chapel of St. Michael and St. George

Maundy Thursday, March 28

5:30 p.m., Pasta Dinner. Everyone is welcome to share in this simple meal. Penne in Tomato Sauce, Caesar Salad, Fresh Rolls with Butter. Donations will be accepted in support of the Rector's Discretionary Fund. Lidgey Room.

7 p.m., Choral Eucharist with Footwashing. The Great Three Days begin. Service concludes with the solemn stripping of the altar. High Altar.

Through the night, Solemn Vigil in the Chapel of St. Michael and St. George.

Good Friday, March 29

7 a.m. Morning Prayer, Chapel of St. Michael and St. George.

10 a.m., Family Service. A service in which the Passion narrative is read and solemn intercession are offered. Behold the love of God displayed in the cross of Christ. Nave.

3 p.m. Solemn Good Friday Liturgy. The Passion narrative, the Reproaches Solemn Intercessions, and Veneration of the Cross.

The Great Easter Vigil, March 30

Sunset (7:43 p.m.) Lighting of a New Fire. Outside the doors of the church

Twilight (8:12 p.m.) The First Eucharist of Easter. A magnificent service of celebration. The Great Easter Vigil begins with the lighting of a new fire outside the doors of the church. It continues with the lighting of the Easter Candle and procession into the church for the First Eucharist of Easter. The dramatic service celebrates the story of salvation. Bring bells for ringing at the Gloria. The greatest festival of the Church and a celebration not to be missed. Resurrection Party follows; the great fast of Lent is over. High Altar

Easter Sunday, March 31

8:15 a.m. The Early Service. A quiet service of Holy Communion according to the rite of the Book of Common Prayer. The High Altar

9:30 a.m. The Discovery Service. A more contemporary expression of worship with our worship band. Holy Eucharist. Special Easter music. The Nave Altar

11 a.m. The Choral Service. A Choral Eucharist with a Festal Procession, organ and brass with the Parish Choir. The High Altar.
